Please take some time to familiarize yourself with the various function keys on your digital keypad. PLEASE NOTE: Most functions require you to enter your personal 4-digit access code prior to pressing the appropriate function key.
ARMING & DISARMING FUNCTIONS
1-OFF
Shuts alarm OFF when armed and resets alarm on the LCD display.
USAGE: Your 4-digit code + 1 (OFF)
2-AWAY (may use when leaving the house)
Turns alarm ON with entry & exit delays ON and motion detectors turned ON.
USAGE: Your 4-digit code + 2 (AWAY)
3-STAY (may use when leaving the house)
Turns alarm ON with entry & exit delays ON and motion detectors turned OFF.
USAGE: Your 4-digit code + 3 (STAY)
4-MAX (may NOT use when leaving the house or when only one keypad is installed)
Turns alarm ON with entry delay OFF and motion detectors turned ON.
USAGE: Your 4-digit code + 4 (MAX)
7-INSTANT (may NOT use when leaving the house)
Turns alarm ON with entry delay OFF and motion detectors turned OFF.
USAGE: Your 4-digit code + 7 (STAY)
PLEASE NOTE: When arming the system you may "Quick Arm" using the # sign instead of your code.
LIGHTS
GREEN-ON...
All protected windows and doors are closed and the system is 'Ready to Arm'.
GREEN-OFF...
A protected window or door is open. Press the * (star) key and the open zone will be displayed.
RED-ON...
System is ARMED. LCD display will show what armed mode the system is in.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
5-TEST
Sounds siren, tests battery, places interior devices (motion detectors, etc.) into the chime mode. Enter your code plus 1-OFF to return to normal operation.
USAGE: Your 4-digit code + 5 (TEST)
6-BYPASS
Used to selectively remove areas (zones) from the system prior to arming.
SAGE: Your 4-digit code + 6 (BYPASS) + zone # (two digit) you want to remove.
EXAMPLE: To bypass zone 1 enter 4-digit code + 601
8-CODE
Used when entering new codes or changing existing ones.

9-CHIME
Turning chime ON will sound three (3) beeps from all keypads when a protected perimeter door or window is opened whenever the alarm is turned OFF.
USAGE: Your 4-digit code + 9 (CHIME). Repeat to turn OFF.
PLEASE NOTE: Your security system runs a test on the battery backup every 24 hours. If the battery should fail this test, the keypad will beep rapidly and a BAT icon will show up on the LCD display. Enter your 4-digit code + 1 (OFF) to silence the beeps. Once the system detects a charged battery the icon will disappear. The typical shelf life of your standby battery is 2 to 5 years.
Codes
PLEASE NOTE: All codes must be 4-digits and there is a time factor involved once you start programming an individual code.
"In other words, once you start the code programming sequence you must follow through without any pauses; otherwise, you will have to start over again. If you make an error during programming you must type in your 4-digit code + 1 to reset the system before you can start the process over."
You have the ability to change your MASTER code along with adding or deleting up to six (6) individual USER codes.
CHANGING YOUR CODES
MASTER CODE
Enter your current MASTER code (default is 1234) + 8 + 02 +
new 4-digit master code [twice]). You will hear three (3)
beeps to confirm you entered the code correctly.
EXAMPLE: If you are changing code from 1234 to 5678,
the programming sequence would be 1-2-3-4-8-0-2-5-6-7-8-5-6-7-8.
PLEASE NOTE: If you do not hear the three (3) beeps you need to restart the process.
USER CODES
Enter your current MASTER code + 8 + 2-digit user code (3 through 8)
+ 4-digit code. You will hear one (1) beep to confirm you entered
the code correctly.
EXAMPLE: If you would like to ADD code 5678,
the programming sequence would be 1-2-3-4-8-0-3-5-6-7-8-5-6-7-8.
PLEASE NOTE: If you do not hear the one (1)
beep you will have to restart the process.
ADDITIONAL TIPS
BAT (displayed on keypad) = battery.
If you have had a recent power outtage,
wait up to 24 hours after power has been restored
for it to recharge and clear itself.
F/C (displayed on keypad) = communication failure. Set the alarm and set it off. Let it go for about 30-60 seconds. The alarm will send signals to the central station and reset itself.
O/C(displayed on keypad) = open circuit. Power down alarm completely for 30-60 seconds. This means first unplug the transformer (main plug connected to the panel - not the keypad). Then open the panel (using the key) and disconnect the battery by sliding the red and black connector wires off the top. After a minute, plug in the transformer and re-connect the battery.
- If you do not have your key please check with your neighbors, because all keys are universal. If you still need a key please call our main office at 610-328-0670 and we will send one out to you.
- The main panel is typically located in the basement. It can also be located in a master bedroom closet, main utility closet, or the garage. It is also tan in color and could possibly say the word 'Ademco' on it.
- The transformer plug will typically be screwed into the wall.
How to change your alarm battery
STEP ONE: Open the main panel of the alarm with your key.
This tan panel is typically located in your basement;
however, if you do not have a basement, check a main utility closet,
master bedroom closet, or even your garage.
STEP TWO: The battery is located on the lower left/right side.
It is a black box that looks like a small car battery.
TEP THREE:S Remove the battery and slide the red and
black connectors from the top.
STEP FOUR: Take the battery with you to your local
hardware store - i.e. Lowe's, Radio Shack, Home Depot, etc.
STEP FIVE: Re-connect the new battery.
FAQ's
QUESTION: Why does my Display read, "NOT READY"?
ANSWER: Press the *(star) key and the open zone will be displayed.
QUESTION: My alarm went off and I entered my code plus 1 (OFF), the siren shut off but now I can't turn my alarm back ON. What am I doing wrong? ANSWER: Any time your alarm is triggered, you must enter your code plus OFF again to clear the alarm from the screen.
